Shopper Bags a Thief After Recognizing Gift
PENDLETON, Ore. — During a recent Christmas shopping trip, Marietta Heath bought $69 worth of gifts at Wal-Mart for her mother, sister and son. She and a friend then went to Radio Shack for a few items, but when they returned to the car they found their packages were missing.
Heath went back into Radio Shack to phone police when saw a customer with bags “trying to return something he didn’t even have a receipt or bag for,” Heath said.
She did a double-take and recognized the man’s Wal-Mart bags as hers. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
