Man Beaten, Robbed While Riding in Park

A 19-year-old Simi Valley man was mugged and beaten early Sunday while riding his bicycle through Rancho Simi Park, police said.
The unidentified victim was riding near the park’s pond around 2 a.m. when five people blocked his path.
They yanked him off his bike, beat him, took his wallet and stripped him, leaving him in only a T-shirt. Before fleeing, the suspects threw his bicycle into the pond.
The man walked to a nearby convenience store for help. Police responded but have been unable to locate the suspects.
The victim was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
