Deadline for Writing Program Is Monday
The free Wordsmiths playwrights workshop program resumes in January after an 18-month hiatus, with a 10-week session at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring St., led by LATC playwright-in-residence Alice Tuan (“Ikebana”).
Wordsmiths is designed to develop new voices in the Los Angeles literary/theater community. Participants will create traditional and nontraditional works, with an emphasis on script analysis, critique and craft.
Deadline to submit one-act or full-length plays, or plays-in-progress, is Monday. Teleplays, screenplays, musicals, adaptations or co-written plays will not be accepted.
Send submissions with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Wordsmiths, Performing Arts Division, Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90013. Information: (213) 485-2437.
