Online Job Advising
With apologies to John Lennon, you say you want a resolution? Here’s one: Get out of that rut you’ve been cursing about and find a new job.
Of course that’s a lot easier to resolve than to do. Just figuring out how much your work is worth can be a challenge.
Fear not. There’s help out there. All sorts of help, in fact. And some of it’s even free. The Web site https://www.jobsmart.org offers multiple links to other Web sites with general land-the-job advice and salary ranges for specific occupations.
Knowing what your work is worth can be key to negotiating for salary and benefits with the new bosses--particularly for women, who still earn 74 cents for every $1 men earn, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
