The Police Department’s “Don’t Shoot Program” is continuing through New Year’s Day in an effort to educate the public about the danger of firing guns in the air. Authorities have distributed fliers and presented public service messages on radio, television and in newspapers to warn against the danger. Extra patrol units will be on the streets for prevention efforts.
