Concordia Falls in Own Tournament

Concordia took 17 more shots than Concordia (Ore.) in the second half, but couldn’t make up an eight-point halftime deficit and lost, 77-74, in the championship game of the Eagle Invitational women’s basketball tournament Wednesday in Irvine.

Concordia (Ore.) shot 70% in the second half.

Jaime Gast led Concordia (6-5) with 23 points.

In the Montana Holiday Classic women’s basketball tournament:

St. Bonaventure 67, Cal State Fullerton 57--Andrea Thieme scored 17 points and Kristina Naumovic had 11 for the Titans.

In nonconference play:

Southern California College 78, Bethel College (Kan.) 48--Host SCC forced 37 turnovers and Amee Pina scored 21 points and Sara Herkenhoff had 14 for SCC (7-5).

In the Concordia men’s basketball tournament:

Concordia 68, Concordia (Wis.) 59--Harald Hoffman scored 19 points to lead the Eagles (8-4) in the first round.
