Fountain Valley 61, Dana Hills 56--Jeff Greenfield scored 22 points for Fountain Valley (9-4) in the fifth-place game. Brett Nowell scored 15 points for Dana Hills (7-8).
In the Brea Olinda Christmas tournament:
Brea Olinda 57, Downey Warren 46--Senior Jarrett Skrifvares sank a three-pointer to help seal the championship victory for Brea Olinda (11-2). Tied at 40 after three quarters, the Wildcats outscored the Bears, 17-6.
Orange Lutheran 65, Whittier Pioneer 60--Jason Whieldon scored 26 points and made three of his four three-pointers in the third quarter for Orange Lutheran (6-6).
In the Canyon tournament:
No. 8 Loara 63, Saddleback 50--Herbert Gracia had 12 points and six assists for Loara (12-2) in the consolation semifinal.
In the Century Holiday Classic:
Bellevue (Wash.) Eastside Catholic 39, Laguna Beach 38--Laguna Beach (12-3) missed its final shot with 10 seconds remaining before Eastside Catholic ran out the clock in the championship game.
All-tournament selection Kurt Beimfohr scored 10 points for Laguna Beach (12-3).
Los Angeles Loyola 49, Century 32--Ryan Mollins scored 20 points for Loyola (11-3) in the third-place game. All-tournament selection Mike Zepeda scored 13 points for Century (5-9).
In the Katella Klassic:
Katella 71, La Habra 53--Katella guard Rob Abercrombie’s 17 points lifted the Knights past La Habra in the championship round. Abercrombie was named all-tournament. Forward Don Keery added 14 points for the Knights and was named tournament MVP.
Bolsa Grande 77, Savanna 70--Jon James scored a game-high 34 points to lead the Matadors to the third-place victory.
In the Nike National Prep Classic:
No. 9 Ocean View 71, Oceanside 51--Torin Beeler scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half as Ocean View outscored Oceanside, 40-26. Casey Lawson had 14 points for the Seahawks.
In the San Diego Mt. Carmel tournament:
Los Alamitos 57, Monte Vista 51--Andrew Pleick had 22 points and eight rebounds after missing three games with a broken nose. Jeff Girgas had 18 points and 13 rebounds, also for the Griffins (9-4), who advanced to the finals.
University 83, Mt. Carmel 67--Andy Lawrence scored 30 points for University, including six three-pointers. Teammate Chet Johnson had 27 points and Jarvohn Shivers scored 12 points and had a team-high 12 rebounds.
