The Orange County Fair has hired veteran Los Angeles County Fair administrator Nadine Lowery to run the exhibits department.
Lowery served for 26 years as exhibit manager at the Los Angeles fair, retiring Dec. 19. As a part-time employee in Orange County, she will oversee fair contest entries.
“When I was going to retire at 65, this is what I wanted to do after,” Lowery said. “I thought, ‘Why not do it now?’ ”
Lowery also will assist fair general manager Becky Bailey-Findley.
“Her knowledge will prove invaluable as we prepare for our annual fair in July,” Bailey-Findley said.
The Orange County Fair, themed “We’re in the Pink,” will run July 10-26.
