HEROIC EFFORT

U.S. curling team members were asked to name their heroes.

Myles Brundidge: “Pete Rose, because he got the most out of his limited athletic ability.”

Erika Brown: “In sports, Tiger Woods. In life, Hillary Clinton, Jocelyn Elders and Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold.”

John Gordon: “Vince Lombardi, and the Lord and God.”

Tim Solin: “Personally, I don’t think that a sports star making millions of dollars deserves to be a hero any more than the average person on the street.”

Deborah Henry: “My dad, because he has always been there to support me in my life and my curling endeavors. Oh, and he’s an awesome curler too.”

By the way, foreign languages are a specialty of Henry’s.

She explains, “I speak fluent Canadian and a little American English.”
