French Guidance
Re “Liberty, Equality . . . Privacy,” Commentary, Feb. 3: When America starts looking to France for guidance in public policy, it’s time to consider job opportunities in Ukraine. What, besides cheese, does this appalling nation have to offer for imitation? A glorious military record? A fluid class structure? An economic policy based on reality? An understanding of soap?
France’s very existence in the ‘90s would be suspect if it weren’t for the TV coverage of annual riots over increasing the workweek. How many times do we have to bail them out before we can be assured we don’t need their advice?
