2 School Auto Shops Get EVs at No Charge

The automotive technology departments at two Orange County schools--Huntington Beach High School and Orange Coast Community College in Costa Mesa--have been given electric vehicles that were retired from Southern California Edison’s fleet.

The donated battery-powered vehicles will be placed in the schools’ auto shops so students can get firsthand experience in case there is ever a big demand for EV mechanics in the real world.
