2nd Hearing Set for Restaurant’s Patio
Over the protests of Councilman John W. Hedges and Mayor Thomas C. Edwards, the City Council has scheduled a second public hearing on a local restaurant’s request to keep its patio open late at night.
In response to noise complaints, the council two weeks ago unanimously ordered Windows on the Bay to close its patio after 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and after 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Hedges protested the rehearing, saying the Coast Highway restaurant failed to present any new information that would warrant reconsideration of the issue.
The council majority on Monday said more study is needed. The second hearing is set for the Feb. 23 council meeting.
