GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* Westminster at Tustin, 7 tonight: The worst Westminster (22-4, 9-0) can do is share first place, as it did last season with Ocean View. In their last meeting, Westminster won, 43-41, on Janet Glasby’s short bank shot with five seconds left. Tustin (20-4, 8-1), one of the county’s most surprising teams, played the final 1:56 without Brook Brown (15.5 points, 15 rebounds), who fouled out.
* Brethren Christian at Cerritos Valley Christian, 7:30 tonight: Brethren Christian’s victory Tuesday over Calvary Chapel gave the Warriors a chance to forge a three-way tie for first with Cerritos Valley Christian (19-6, 7-2) and Calvary Chapel. But the Warriors (15-9, 6-3) will need a victory by Orange Lutheran (6-15, 3-6) over Calvary Chapel (20-5, 7-2) to pull it off.
* San Clemente at Mater Dei, 7 tonight: Third-ranked San Clemente (22-4, 8-1) is coming off Tuesday’s emotional victory over second-ranked Capistrano Valley (19-6, 8-1) to create a tie for first in the South Coast League. The Tritons need one more victory to share the league title, but they must win at seventh-ranked Mater Dei (13-12, 6-3)--where the Tritons have never won.
