Eltron to Leave Simi for Larger Facility
A manufacturer of printers for bar-code labels and ID cards has announced it will move from Simi Valley to Camarillo, bringing with it 400 jobs.
Officials of Eltron International Inc. said the move will allow the addition of as many as 160 new positions.
The company is to move to its new 142,000-square-foot, $7.8-million headquarters on Flynn Road by October.
The Simi Valley site is 67,000 square feet and the company recently had to rent an additional 35,000 square feet.
“We’ve outgrown both our production and administrative capacity here at this site,” said investor relations manager Linda Broderick. Eltron was founded in 1991 with five people and 3,000 square feet in Chatsworth. The company moved to Simi Valley in 1995.
