Edison 1, University 0--Kristina Furniss scored off Kim Stempkowski’s free kick with 11 minutes left to play for visiting Edison (18-3-3). University finishes 15-5-4.

Mission Viejo 2, Claremont 1--Kate Desmond scored the winning goal in the 57th minute for host Mission Viejo (18-3-4), which will play Diamond Bar in the quarterfinals.

In Division II:

For the second straight year, Santa Margarita eliminated Sea View League rival Woodbridge in the second round of the playoffs, with a 3-2 sudden-death victory in the second round. Last year, it was a 2-0 victory.

Freshman Laura Cragin’s goal in the 110th minute off a corner kick advanced the Eagles (13-5-4) to the quarterfinals, where they will face second-seeded West Torrance.

Woodbridge (12-7-4) controlled much of the action, but trailed, 2-1, late in regulation. The Warriors’ Jessica Pagano scored the tying goal with five minutes remaining.
