Avery Dennison, 3 Others Win USPS Contracts

Avery Dennison Corp. and three other firms won contracts from the U.S. Postal Service to print stamps in the next five years. The contracts, with potential combined value of between $222 million and $549 million, call for the printing of up to 37 billion stamps annually, divided among the four contractors. Pasadena-based Avery Dennison will print water-activated and pressure-sensitive stamps in Clinton, S.C. Contracts also were given to Ashton Potter in Williamsville, N.Y.; Banknote Corp. of America in New York; and Sennett Security Products in Chantilly, Va. Shares of Avery Dennison fell 69 cents to close at $49.25 on the New York Stock Exchange.
