Son of Councilman Charged With DUI
Misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of alcohol have been filed against Christopher Donelon, the 18-year-old son of Councilman Mike Donelon.
City Prosecutor John Vander Lans said the charges were filed after the teenager’s car allegedly rear-ended another car.
The accident occurred at 4:55 p.m. Monday, when the younger Donelon was driving along Atlantic Avenue near 28th Street. His car allegedly ran into the back of a car stopped at a red light, Long Beach police Sgt. Steve Filippini said.
The stopped car was pushed into two other vehicles also waiting at the stop light, authorities said.
