Planners OK Visitor Parking at Eli Home

The Eli Home for abused children and their mothers has won city approval to allow its clients to have visitors and to park their vehicles on shelter property.

The Planning Commission recently approved the changes to the nonprofit group’s operating permit despite opposition from neighbors of the Anaheim Hills shelter.

The city had also received a number of complaints from neighbors about parking problems. In dealing with those concerns, the commission ruled that Eli Home’s clients, employees or visitors must use only the six parking spaces on its property.

Commissioners also limited the number of vehicle round-trips to 15 per day to preserve the residential character of the area.

The panel also directed shelter officials to replace a wooden fence with a concrete wall with stucco finish as originally proposed in their building plans.
