Two Oxnard men suspected of stealing cars and money at gunpoint from the parking lot of Wal-Mart on North Rose Avenue were in Ventura County Jail on Friday, being held on suspicion of carjacking, robbery and kidnapping, authorities said.
Edwin McMillian, 20, was arrested Thursday at his Oxnard home and Joshua Erwin, 19, was arrested Jan. 10 in Los Angeles in one of the cars stolen from the Wal-Mart, a police spokesman said.
McMillian and Erwin are suspected of robbing two people in an 11-hour period at the Wal-Mart store on Jan. 9, the spokesman said. In both instances, the victims were held at gunpoint, forced to drive away from the shopping center and then robbed of their money and vehicles, the spokesman said.
Although officers recovered one of the cars, police are still looking for the other vehicle, a black 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, license number 3EDR361.
