CalComp Technology Inc.: The Anaheim supplier of computer graphics printers, sign cutters, digitizers and scanners reported a net loss of $34.6 million, or 74 cents a share, for the fourth quarter, compared with a net loss of $23.9 million, or 52 cents a share, for the same quarter last year. Sales declined 40% to $40.2 million from $67.5 million.
The company said results for the last quarter included $3.8 million in restructuring costs related primarily to a realignment of the company’s European operations, and approximately $10.8 million in costs associated with the transition to its new inkjet products, which are being introduced during the first quarter this year.
CalComp reported a net loss of $75.2 million, or $1.60 a share, for the year, compared with a net loss of $56.6 million, or $1.32 a share, a year ago. Sales dropped 15% to $200.2 million from $235.9 million.
