Group to Urge Deposits in Black-Owned Banks
A group of prominent political, religious and business leaders will hold a press conference today ) at a Crenshaw district bank to encourage Los Angeles residents to deposit money in black-owned banks.
The Third Annual Change Bank Month will be kicked off at 10 a.m. at the Founders National Bank. Similar campaigns are planned for New York City, Washington and Atlanta, according to organizers.
“In the spirit of Change Bank Month, I’m challenging area businessmen and women to think of and execute measures that support our children and our businesses,” said Clifton Hinds, a community activist and businessman.
