College Staging 1st Arts Festival

Moorpark College is planning its first summer arts festival, consisting of three Saturday evening performances at the campus.
The first event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Performing Arts Center’s studio theater.
Under the direction of drama instructor Eric Augusztiny, students will perform a series of comedic scenes, monologues and improvisations.
At 8 p.m. July 25, conductor James Song will present an orchestra concert featuring a variety of pops and light classical music at the Performing Arts Center’s main stage.
The festival will end at the outdoor stage of the college’s Campus Center Quad at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1.
Audience members are invited to bring chairs and blankets and have a picnic.
The twilight evening will end with ballroom dance lessons by instructor Sandi Patterson.
All three events require the purchase of one $10 ticket.
The price is $5 for seniors, students and children 12 and under.
