World Court

I applaud John Anderson’s July 17 column, “U.S. Wants a World Court Without Teeth.” Not long ago we rejected a ban on land mines. Now we side with totalitarian regimes like Iraq in voting against an international court to bring war criminals to justice.
I can’t believe Americans are against having tyrants who commit genocide be held responsible for their acts. When nearly every democratic country in the world voted for a sensible measure that might deter evil, perhaps we should reconsider our position.
