Perry Parker, formerly of UC Irvine and Foothill High, qualified for his second consecutive U.S. Open by shooting par 140 for 36 holes at Lake Merced Golf and Country Club in Daly City.
Parker tied Pleasonton’s Joel Kribel for second, one stroke behind medalist Joe Acosta Jr. of Visalia. Six players in the field of 92 qualified for the U.S. Open, which is June 18-21 at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
Chris Tidland, formerly of Valencia High, shot an eight-under 136, including a 65 in the morning round, to lead three players who qualified in Portland, Ore.
