Boy, 2 1/2, Falls Out 2nd-Story Window, but Injuries Minor

A toddler got only a bump on the head Thursday after falling two stories from an apartment window, Fullerton police said.
The 2 1/2-year-old boy was sitting on the back of a couch next to an open screened window while his grandmother read him a story, Police Lt. Geoff Spalding said. About 1:30 p.m. the child fell backward, the window screen gave way, and the boy plummeted to the ground outside his family’s apartment on South Balcom Avenue, Spalding said.
The boy sustained only minor injuries. Paramedics took him to UCI Medical Center in Orange as a precaution, firefighters said.
