Ex-Superintendent to Lead Prep School
Former Ojai Unified School District Supt. Andrew C. Smidt will temporarily serve as headmaster at Villanova Preparatory School while the school conducts a national search for a permanent headmaster.
Villanova is a Catholic high school in Ojai.
Smidt left his position as superintendent in 1996. He will retire at the end of this month from a position as deputy superintendent of the Santa Barbara County education office.
Smidt replaces Brother D. Luke Maher, who was headmaster for the last four years. Maher is returning to Baltimore, the headquarters of his province of the Christian Brothers.
