Ventura Buena 58, Simi Valley Royal 48--The two-time defending division champion Bulldogs advanced to their 13th consecutive semifinal appearance with the victory at Buena.

Kelly Greathouse, a 6-foot-2 freshman center, scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds for Buena and sparked a 9-0 run over the closing seconds of the second quarter and first three minutes of the third quarter that turned a four-point Buena edge into a 33-22 advantage.

Greathouse, who posted up for close-range hooks and turnaround jumpers, also made the basket that gave Buena its largest lead, 46-31, with 6:23 to play.

Royal was making its first appearance in a quarterfinal in 16 years.
