Bribery Suspect Expected to Be Released on Bail Today

FULLERTON — The Cal State Fullerton student facing a felony charge of trying to bribe one of the school’s basketball players to fix a game, is expected to be released on bail this morning.
Jack Oh, 21, must return to court for a preliminary hearing March 19.
Oh left Orange County Central Jail for the first time since Fullerton police arrested him Feb. 23. After Municipal Court Judge Daniel T. Brice rejected a defense motion Thursday to free Oh on his own recognizance, Oh’s family was expected to post the $25,000 bail.
Oh allegedly offered freshman center Corey Sanders $1,000 to help ensure the Titans lost by more than the 10-point spread in a Feb. 19 game against Pacific. The Titans lost, 71-57.
According to Fullerton police, Oh also offered $100 for each missed free throw and as much as $75,000 for continued cooperation. If found guilty, Oh faces up to three years in state prison.
