School Trustees OK Employee Contract
Teachers and school psychologists received raises ranging from 3.25% to 15% under a contract proposal approved Monday by Capistrano Unified School District trustees.
The three-year contract, with the district’s 1,850 full-time employees, represented by the Capistrano Unified Education Assn., will cost the district an additional $6 million in the 1997-98 school year.
Annual salaries will range from $29,366 for newer teachers with bachelor’s degrees to $64,448 for the most experienced teachers with master’s degrees.
Additionally, the district and association agreed to form a labor management council to address contract issues on a year-round basis.
