Martinez Hits 3 Homers for Chaminade in 20-4 Win

Chris Martinez hit three home runs, including a grand slam, and Chaminade High had four home runs overall in a 20-4 victory over San Fernando on Thursday in the San Fernando Valley Invitational at Chaminade.
Thew game was called after 4 1/2 innings because of the 10-run rule.
Martinez, who also had a single, scored four runs and drove in seven.
Nate Dunlap added three hits, including a home run, and two runs batted in for the Eagles (3-0).
In other San Fernando Valley Invitational games:
Thousand Oaks 8, Poly 2--Shea Johnson and Adam Leavitt hit two-run home runs for the Lancers at Thousand Oaks (4-0). Poly (3-1) committed six errors.
Cleveland 7, Highland 6--Eliseo Delgado hit a two-out, run-scoring single and the Cavaliers won in the bottom of the seventh for the second consecutive game at Cleveland.
Eric Aguiar had three hits for Cleveland (3-0).
Westlake 13, North Hollywood 2--Scott Dragicevich, John Kenny, Mikey Brin, Ethan East and Mike Nickeas hit home runs for the Warriors (2-2) in a game called after five innings by the 10-run rule at Westlake.
Jeff Boyle (1-0) pitched a three-hitter, striking out six and walking one.
Palmdale 4, El Camino Real 3--Grant Livermont’s sacrifice fly won it for the Falcons (2-2) in the ninth at El Camino Real (0-4), which stranded runners at third in the seventh, eighth and ninth.
Kennedy 17, Glendale 7--Jack Cassel drove in seven runs with four hits, including a two-run home run and two doubles, for the Golden Cougars (3-1) in a victory at Kennedy.
Harvard-Westlake 17, Eagle Rock 4--Matt Thayer and Matt Felder each had four hits and drove in three runs for the Wolverines (2-2) at Eagle Rock (0-4).
Quartz Hill 5, Birmingham 2--Johnny Smith’s two-run home run in the fifth broke a 2-2 tie at Birmingham (3-1).
In the Westside tournament:
Hart 9, Loyola 4--Brandon Montemayor hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to break open a semifinal game in the Blue Division at Hart (4-0).
Sylmar 7, Newbury Park 3--Ivan Hernandez (2-0) pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and the Spartans (4-0) won a Red Division semifinal at Sylmar.
Saugus 3, University 2--Luke Miller hit two home runs and the Centurions won at Saugus (2-2).
Hueneme 4, Moorpark 3--Miguel Bravo had three hits, including a home run to help the Vikings (3-1) win at Moorpark (2-2).
Rio Mesa 4, Culver City 3--Ernie Borjas was hit by a pitch to force in the tying run with two out in the seventh and John Ramirez followed with a walk to give the Spartans (3-1) a victory at Rio Mesa.
Notre Dame 6, Westchester 5--Austin Bryant pitched two innings of hitless relief to earn his first save for the Knights (3-1) at Notre Dame.
Franklin 7, Canoga Park 6--Isidro Pinedo hit a two-run home run with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning at Franklin (3-1).
Victor Torres had a triple and drove in two runs for Canoga Park (0-4).
In another game:
L.A. Baptist 4, St. Bonaventure 3--Ricky Wendt’s run-scoring single in the seventh gave the Knights (2-1) a victory at St. Bonaventure.
