Cal State Northridge has hired football assistants Craig Wall as defensive coordinator and Keith Borges as running backs coach.
Former Matador assistant Foster Andersen will return as a part-time defensive backs coach.
Wall was head coach at Crown College, a National Christian College Athletic Assn. Division II school in St. Bonifacius, Minn., last season, and Borges was offensive coordinator at Merced College.
The Matadors signed Andrew Amerson, a wide receiver from Morris High in San Diego. He is the brother of Archie Amerson, a former Northern Arizona All-American.
BASKETBALL
Harvard-Westlake High senior point guard Victor Munoz will attend Columbia next year, Wolverine Coach Greg Hilliard said Thursday. The 6-foot Munoz played 15 games this season before suffering a knee injury.
SOCCER
Win Hainbuch has resigned as Poly High boys’ coach, assistant principal Heather Daims said.
Daims said Hainbuch, who will remain as a teacher, told her about six weeks ago he would not return for a fourth season with the Parrots, who were removed from the City Section playoffs March 3 because they used an ineligible player.
VOLLEYBALL
Canyon High middle blocker Jimmy Giordano has been suspended indefinitely, Coach Spencer MacCuish said.
“I want him to put in a good week of team play before he’s on the court again,” MacCuish said.
