How one performs at work is significantly determined by one’s ability to predict what one will be doing when one comes to work. With the exception of two, perhaps three, Lakers, that simply is not possible. Del Harris’ substitution pattern is not predictable. How many different combinations have been out there in the last 10 minutes in similar situations?
The sooner the coach is replaced, the better the Lakers will perform. When someone’s role at work is defined by the boss as, “I don’t know. Let’s see,” that has to translate into a reduced effort by the worker.

Jerry West wrote a letter to the Laker players containing words like “compassion,” “desire,” “determination,” “drive,” “devotion” and “pride,” according to The Times.
These are players who think that “contract” is the shortened version of “scholarship” and that ESPN are all the letters in the alphabet.
