9 More Charged in Armored Car Heist
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nine people were charged Friday with trying to launder the loot from a $17-million armored car heist.
Eight others are already charged in connection with the heist--one of the biggest in U.S. history--at Loomis, Fargo and Co. in Charlotte.
Friday’s indictment added murder-for-hire charges against three of the eight. They were accused of plotting to kill David Scott Ghantt, the former Loomis driver accused of taking a leading role in the heist.
Investigators have recovered $9.6 million since arresting Ghantt in Mexico and taking seven others into custody earlier this month.
