Basketball Tourney to Benefit Program
The Citrus Valley Classic Basketball Tournament will be held March 28 to benefit the Santa Paula High School boys’ basketball program.
The deadline to enter the men’s 5-on-5 basketball tournament is Friday at 5 p.m.
Registration is limited to the first 10 teams to complete their rosters and pay the $175 fee.
All proceeds will go to the boys’ basketball program, which has 45 players. The money will be used for such things as purchasing new equipment and uniforms and putting the boys into summer basketball programs.
Roster and rules materials can be mailed, faxed or picked up at the Santa Paula Community Center at 530 W. Main St.
Individual awards will go to the first-place team.
The event has been sponsored by the Peace Officers Assn. of Ventura County and Weyerhaeuser Co. to help offset the officials’ fees and prize awards.
