Disabled
Re Lorenzo W. Milam’s commentary, “What’s It Like to Be Disabled? You’ll Know Someday,” March 16:
I thought this was one of the best descriptions of what it is like to be a person with a disability. I had a stroke three years ago at the age of 42, have permanent weakness on my right side and need a cane to walk long distances and have limited use of my arm and hand. I agree that it doesn’t do any good to tell the able-bodied majority what it is like to have a disability because they really don’t care. I certainly did not care until the “car-bomb” in my body went off.
Thank you, Mr. Milam, for shedding some light on this subject and telling it as it is.
