Creeks and Flooding Are Focus of Meetings
In an effort to deal with recent flood problems along miles of South County creeks, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold two public hearings, starting tonight at City Hall.
The 7 p.m. meeting at 27841 La Paz Road will include a briefing on a proposed $1-million, two-year study of Aliso Creek.
On Thursday, the federal agency will gather information from residents for a similar proposed study on water and environmental issues along San Juan and Trabuco creeks.
“Having observed what the winter storms did in February along Trabuco Creek and San Juan Creek, we expect a large crowd,” said James Adams, Corps study manager.
That meeting will be at the Del Obispo Community Center, 34052 Del Obispo Road.
