Event Commemorates Mothers Who Died
A foundation that benefits girls and women who have lost their mothers early in life will host a Motherless Daughters Day luncheon today at the Robert Mondavi Wine & Food Center.
The event is taking place the day before Mother’s Day to help comfort participants who have lost their mothers. About 1,000 daughters nationwide are expected to join today’s commemoration, sponsored by a New York group.
“It’s just a support group of women who have gone through their lives not realizing the impact that losing a mother while they were young has on their lives,” said Linda Blasko, a member from Lake Forest. “It’s an awakening that there is an impact.”
The luncheon will go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mondavi, 1570 Scenic Ave. Tickets are $35.
