Committee Reviews Buildings’ Face-Lift
A pair of buildings in the 4500 block of Eileen Street are due for a face-lift, and two City Council members like the new plan.
Councilwomen Barbra Williamson and Sandi Webb, who serve as the city’s Tapo Street Revitalization Committee, have reviewed the plans to update the facade of the buildings at 4530 Eileen St.
“I like it,” Williamson said. “It kind of all ties together.”
The box-like buildings will receive tiered roofs, awnings, decorative lighting and individual signs for subtenants, said architect Gonzalo Pedroso of Spectrum Land Planning Inc. in Simi Valley, which will handle the work.
The renovation is expected to cost as much as $50,000 and the city will match up to $20,000 in costs as part of its Tapo Street revitalization plan.
The matter is expected to return to the committee before the end of the year for additional review.
