OCC Shuts Out Golden West in Men’s Soccer

Josh Miller and Ramon Garcia each had a goal and an assist to help lead Orange Coast to a 3-0 victory over Golden West in Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer Tuesday.

Miller scored off a pass from Garcia in the 45th minute, giving the Pirates (10-10-3, 4-6-1) a 1-0 halftime lead. Miller assisted on Scott Tackaberry’s goal in the 68th minute and Garcia scored in the 74th minute off an assist from Angel Ochoa. Golden West 8-7-2, 4-6.

In another conference game:

Santa Ana 4, Cypress 0--Sergio Viera had to make only one save in Santa Ana’s sixth conference shutout. Alex Garcia, Victor Licea, Fernando Rico and Tomas Serna scored for Santa Ana (16-1-3, 8-0-2).

In Orange Empire Conference woman’s soccer:

Cypress 3, Santa Ana 0--Cypress clinched its sixth conference title in the last eight years. Jane Specht scored her 21st goal of the season and Heather Mears and Tami Askey also scored for the Chargers (19-0-1, 10-0), who recorded their seventh consecutive shutout in conference.
