Homework Center Needs Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for the new homework center at the Avenue Library.
The center will open at 3 p.m. Monday at the library, 807 N. Ventura Ave.
It will operate Mondays through Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m., giving students resources ranging from volunteer aides to access to the Internet.
Volunteers must donate at least two hours a week for five months, relate well to people and have the ability to assist students with reading and math. No special training is required.
For more information, call the library at 643-6393 or homework center coordinator Jim O’Grady at 648-3732.
