The Dolphins picked up their first South Coast League victory last week, defeating Capistrano Valley. But Dana Hills, like its league brethren, is not on the same level as Mater Dei, which cruised past Mission Viejo last week. A loss tonight knocks the Dolphins out of the playoffs, but they can’t expect the Monarchs to be looking ahead to next week’s showdown with Trabuco Hills. Dana Hills beat Mater Dei, 13-12, in their first South Coast League meeting in 1992, but it has been all Monarchs since. Mater Dei has won the last five meetings, 54-13 in ‘97, 35-7 in ‘96, 49-0 in ‘95, 42-13 in ’94 and 41-0 in ’93.
