The Valley branch of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People will offer free workshops designed to teach office skills, networking techniques, interviewing skills and resume writing to minority and low-income residents who cannot find work.

The three-workshop series will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11, Nov. 18 and Nov. 25 at the Chronicle Business Group Offices, 12040 Foothill Blvd. in Pacoima. Space is limited so preregistration is recommended.

As part of the NAACP’s Education to Employment 2000 Program, the workshops are designed to make the unemployed or underemployed more attractive to potential employers, said the Rev. Zedar Broadous, president of the Valley branch NAACP.

“We’ve found that employers have the jobs, but they’re not getting the quality employees they need,” he said.
