LAKE FOREST
Rain spoiled last Sunday’s finals at the Lake Forest City Tennis Championships. About 170 amateur residents turned out for the inaugural event, forming more than 200 teams. “It was a lot bigger than we planned for the first time out,” said Rick Trager, tournament director. “It was a real adventure for us.”
The first local open tournament in 15 years included men’s and women’s singles, doubles, mixed doubles and a high school competition. Semifinal and final matches are being rescheduled for this weekend at the Sun and Sail Club, 24752 Toledo Way. Information: (949)859-6914.
