Florida State Loses Weinke
Florida State quarterback Chris Weinke will have neck surgery and be sidelined the rest of the season.
X-rays revealed Weinke has a herniated disk, as well as ligament damage and a broken bone in his right arm suffered when he was sacked during the Seminoles’ 45-14 victory over Virginia last Saturday. The injuries caused numbness in his arm.
Junior Marcus Outzen will take over for Weinke. Outzen had thrown only 13 passes for the Seminoles (9-1) before replacing Weinke against Virginia and going 5 for 6 for 67 yards with one interception.

Virginia Military Institute Coach Ted Cain, whose teams have won only one of 21 games during his two seasons at the school, was fired.
