* Tryouts for the Valley Oaks Volleyball Club for girls 14-18 are scheduled for 6-9 p.m. today and Nov. 20 at Birmingham High, and from noon-2:30 p.m. Nov. 22 at Portola Middle School in Tarzana.

* The sixth annual Gobbler Games tournament is being staged by Mid-Valley Youth Baseball Nov. 27-29 and Dec. 5-6. The invitational event is for players 5-14 and is expected to draw more than 50 teams from throughout Southern California.
