Bakersfield 34, Glendale 7--The Vaqueros (2-7, 1-4) committed four turnovers, three of which were converted for first-half scores when the Renegades built a 27-0 lead, in a WSC Northern Division game at Glendale High.
Bakersfield (7-2, 5-0) earned a share of the division title entering its finale next week against second-place Hancock.
The first--and perhaps most damaging--turnover came early in the first quarter when Glendale receiver Alvie Castro fumbled and Ed Brown returned the ball 61 yards to the one-yard line.
Two plays later, Jermaine Ervin ran one yard for a touchdown.
Bakersfield converted the other two turnovers into second-quarter field goals.
Glendale scored on a one-yard sneak by Chris Cervantes that capped a 13-play, 78-yard drive at the start of the third quarter.
Cervantes completed nine of 22 passes for 160 yards and one interception.
