For their dedication to their four children and the community, 25-year residents David and Edna Ethington have been selected the 1998 La Palma Family of the Year. Those who nominated the Ethingtons, one of seven nominated families, said: “Edna is an inspiration to what volunteerism stands for--unselfishly giving of herself to better our community with no personal gain in mind. Edna and Dave genuinely care about La Palma, its future and all of its citizens.” The program is sponsored by the City Council and the Cultural and Beautification Committee.
