HomeBase Income for Third Quarter at $7.2 Million

HomeBase Inc., the Irvine-based operator of 84 home improvement warehouses, reported income for the third quarter ended Oct. 31 totaled $7.2 million, or 17 cents a share. For the third quarter a year ago, the company lost $10.3 million, or 27 cents a share, which included a $16.3-million after-tax charge primarily related to store closures. Sales declined about 2% to $360.1 million from $368.4 million.
