The thin crescent moon will help you find the elusive planet Mercury this evening. Mercury is visible in the twilight and very near to the west-southwest horizon. Look for Mercury at or soon after 5:15 p.m., when it will be six degrees to the lower left of the thin crescent moon. Use binoculars.
