BUENA PARK

Hoping to make one of Buena Park’s main thoroughfares pedestrian-friendly, the City Council on Tuesday examined design plans by a Fullerton-based architectural firm.
Purkiss Rose Landscape Architect presented the council with designs to spruce up the sidewalk areas in front of eight businesses on Beach Boulevard, between the 91 Freeway and La Palma Avenue. The plan is to extend the sidewalk farther back to create a nook for benches and landscaping in front of attractions and businesses including Movieland Wax Museum, Medieval Times and Holiday Inn. The council is scheduled to vote Nov. 24 to invite bids from construction firms.
